Just Us Teens Book Club Meeting at Main Library today

Tonight we looked over YALSA's list of 100 best teen fiction titles of 2011.  We each talked about the titles we'd read in the past and then we picked titles to read from the list for next month.  Club members recommended Forge by Laurie Anderson, Maze Runner by James Dashner, Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, Numbers by Rachel Ward, and Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi.

Awesome trip to NYC

We had a great time yesterday at the showing of THE SACRED STAR OF MILOS.  Four teens were from the SCLS Onigiri Club, two from the Denville Library Anime/Manga Club and one from Manhattan.  After the movie we visited the Forbidden Planet store and had supper at a Raiman restaurant.

The movie was well worth seeing.  Ed and his brother Al try to stop a brother and sister from using a philosopher's stone with epic consequences.  The fans agreed that the art work was a bit different from the usual (especially the eyes) but otherwise it was faithful to the series and very satisfying.

Full-Metal Alchemist Movie: Sacred Star of Milos.  The Main Library's Onigiri Animanga Club will be meeting at Cinema Village in NYC for the 1:10 PM showing of this movie on Saturday, January 21, 2012.  This is not a library sponsored trip so each member must find their own way to and from the theater.  THERE WILL NOT BE A MEETING AT THE LIBRARY.  Check our club page on Facebook for changes in plans because of weather.

Breaking Dawn Movie Release Party! At the Main Library

Celebrate the release of the movie, Breaking Dawn, Part 1. We'll have a trivia contest, a game, refreshments, and an intro to other literary vampires you may not have met. Come dressed for teen Edward or Jacob or as a favorite character. For teens in 7- 12.
